Numbered Bullets?

I think this is a fabulous idea. If it were to pass and they could keep proper records it would help law enforcement tremendously. The only thing is you would have a surge of underground bullet production, but maybe they could trace the materials to the source if it were to happen. I am also all for raising the price on bullets and making them really expensive to buy, that way curbing unnecessary use.
Bill Would Put Serial Numbers on Bullets

One more gun control stupid idea. Would the serial number be on the shell casing, the slug, or both? If it's on the shell casing then any reasonable crook would use a revolver that does not throw casings, or pick up his casings after the fact. If it's on the slug it is immediately nullified by the fact there are millions of people in this country that are "reloaders" molding their own slugs and fitting them, the cap and the powder into used casings.

We currently have more than 23,000 gun laws on the books of this country between city, county, state, and the federal government, all passed to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. They aren't working. They could throw them all out and pass one law that says if you use a gun in the commission of a felony you go to prison for life. If you can't keep the guns out of the hands of criminals, then keep the criminals out of the general population.

Just my two cents worth.
